What Find-A-Pro is
Find-A-Pro is a two-sided marketplace that introduces homeowners and businesses to independent local service professionals. We are not the contractor, we do not perform the work, and we do not set the price of any job. The agreement for work is between you and the professional you hire.
Using the platform as a customer
Browsing, requesting quotes, messaging professionals and hiring are free for customers. We never add a booking fee or markup to your job. You pay the professional directly at the price the two of you agree.
What verification means
Every professional account passes identity and phone verification before the profile goes live. Licenses and insurance shown on a profile are entered by the professional and are not verified by Find-A-Pro. Where a job requires a licence, confirm it with the state or county licensing board before work starts.
Professional fees
Professionals can join and build a profile for free. Two plans are offered: Pay Per Request, which charges $5 for each service request you accept and has no monthly fee, and the Pro Plan, which charges $10 per month plus $3 per accepted request. Declining a request is always free. Fees are charged through Stripe to the payment method on the account.
Cancelling and changing plans
There is no long-term contract. Professionals can switch between plans or cancel from their billing settings at any time; access continues to the end of the current monthly period. Charges already incurred for accepted requests are not refundable, except where a request was materially misdescribed or where a duplicate charge occurred.
No guarantee of requests or work
We do not guarantee that a professional will receive a particular number of requests, that a customer will receive a particular number of quotes, or that either side will be hired. Each request reaches at most two local professionals.
Reviews and content
Customers can review a professional only after hiring them through the platform. Reviews must describe a real experience. Professionals may respond publicly but cannot remove a review; they can dispute one, and we review disputes. We may remove content that is unlawful, misleading, abusive, or that shares another person's private information.
Not for everyone
Find-A-Pro is built for independent professionals and small local service businesses serving their own communities. It is not a lead-resale service, a franchise directory, or a same-day emergency dispatch service.
Accounts and termination
You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your login details private. You can delete your account at any time from the account settings page. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, is used to solicit or scam other users, or misrepresents who is behind it.
Liability
Find-A-Pro is an introduction service. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the quality, safety, timing, or legality of work performed by a professional, or for the conduct of any user. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The date below shows the current version, and continuing to use the platform after an update means you accept it.
